Why You Should Stay Alkaline and How to Do It

Our body’s pH levels are mainly affected by the food we consume, and maintaining an alkaline environment of the system is the best way to prevent serious ailments and diseases.

The acidic state in the body raises the risk of various chronic illnesses, weight gain, and accelerated aging.

On the other hand, alkalizing the body will boost the energy levels, improve sleep, strengthen the immune system, slow down aging, enhance your alertness, and prevent cancer.

Dr. Robert O. Young, PhD. in his book, The pH Miracle, claims:

“Those willing to look again, and with clear eyes, will be rewarded with the secrets to permanent health. We can heal ourselves by changing the environment inside our bodies. Potentially harmful invaders, then, will have nowhere to grow and be harmless.”

The body is naturally slightly alkaline, with a pH of 7.365. However, modern lifestyles and diets rich in processed foods distort the needed balance so you should increase the intake of alkaline foods, such as leafy green, cucumbers, almonds, millet, corn, lemons, millet, melons, olives, tofu, chestnuts, lentils, and chia seeds.

Most vegetables are alkaline, so you can freely incorporate them into your daily menu. You should avoid most fruits if your body needs to be alkalized, and limit the consumption of currants, blueberries, cranberries, plums, and prunes.

While meats are considered alkaline, they create an acidic state of the body, so you should also reduce their intake. The excessive acidity in the body is also caused by stress, reduced oxygen, and environmental toxins.

A diet high in vegetables, and an extremely low intake of processed foods and sugars is a healthy way to boost the immune system and lose weight.

Make sure you also exercise regularly, drink plenty of water, limit the intake of alcohol and coffee, and start the day with a glass of lemon water, and you will soon experience amazing health improvements!
